Nine layers of cotton net go into a single ghost head. That is where the depth comes from, and why the light inside reads as a glow instead of a bulb.
One warm light per ghost, inside the head. Nothing else on the wreath is lit, so at dusk the seven faces come up first and the rest stays in shadow.
